At the beginning of the year I set out a New Year's resolution to try and write a blog post every day for a year - so far I have posted 186 times in 186 days, with another 179 to go before 31st December. I'm over half way to reaching my target - to be honest I thought at the beginning of the year that I would have given up long before now. Sometimes it has been relatively easy to think of something to post, other times (like today!) - not so easy. While on holiday in Boston there was the added problem of time zones - I tended to write in the evenings, but with the 5-hour time difference sometimes my posts skipped a day. I have since gone back and edited to ensure a record of one post per day.
I am getting used to the discipline of writing every day. Yes - there are times when I'm in a semi-panic when I can't think of anything to write, it's even harder to think of anything interesting to write.
Over the next few weeks I will be in Wexford most of the time - hopefully I can keep up the daily blogging. I will be gardening, swimming, canoeing, walking, and biking. I have a few trips on the bike to make to get more material for my third book about travelling around Ireland's East and Southeast coasts. I plan to go up to Carlingford, as well as riding down to Kinsale.
Happy holidays!
