Slowly but surely, we have been working through the last pile of logs (called sticks in Ballingate) since my Dad died just over one and a half years ago. We had great sessions splitting logs for the winter with several family members being warmed by log fires from Ballingate. The photo below is from 2020 and the logs behind Dad are long since burned. You can see how happy Dad is to get so much work done.

Just this past week I have collected logs from the same shed and realized that the pile which I was collecting from (the same location as above) was the last of the logs split by my Dad with me. It was a very sad moment for me as I remembered many the session followed by a glass of whiskey and lots of banter and chat.
